I’m a business consultant and publish the blog garthkoyle.com.
I am an MBA and MHA graduate from the University of Utah. I am the co-owner of Event Espresso, an event registration and ticketing management plugin for WordPress. Although I have dabbled in programming and design, my true talent lies in business management. I have been involved with internet marketing for almost a decade, from SEO consulting to my current entrepreneurial adventure of the WordPress plugin, Event Espresso. Me and Event Espresso’s founder, Seth Shoultes, competed in the 2011 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge and took home the grand prize of $40,000 for their business plan and presentation that used innovative business forecasting techniques. Through Event Espresso, I have sponsored and attended many WordCamps across the country, including Utah, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Kansas City, Orange County, Vancouver, Phoenix, Chicago and Indonesia. I have also spoke at WordCamp Chicago and Salt Lake City.
I am also currently employed with Henry Ford Health System Administrative Fellowship program as the Henry Ford Hospital Administrative Fellow. I’m working on a variety of projects from the emergency and operating room department improvement projects, IT planning and implementation, system integration to budgeting, funds flow models, and revenue cycle management.
I have consulted for a variety of industries, from health care to construction to marketing and finance. My diverse background has given me a passion for business, technology, the complex issues of health care, and thinking critically and strategically. My goal for readers of garthkoyle.com is to offer an explanation, insights, and solutions to business and social problems (what I call opportunities). I am not afraid to get into the details with readers, or clients, because that’s where your competitive advantage exists.
